Hi, my name is Natasha and this is my dog Hank. Hank came from a rescue situation, is 7 months old and 100Ibs, he is a sweet, gentle giant with a tender heart.
Hank developed a limp in late August. After a week of rest and anti-inflammatory medication did not help we got X-rays and it was discovered he was suffering from bilateral osteochondritis dissecans (OCD). This is a condition where abnormal cartilage develops at the end of the shoulder bone, causing lameness and stiffness.
The best option for Hank is surgery. We are working with an orthopaedic specialist and the cost to correct both shoulders along with initial diagnostics and aftercare is approximately $8,000-$10,000.
We are asking for help with the cost of surgery. We want the best for Hank, he deserves to be back to his normal goofy, playful self.
