Joey's Services and Celebration of Life

Hello Family, Friends, and Community-

My name is David Espinoza and I am starting this Go Fund Me page on behalf of my sister, Alejandra 'Alex' Camarena, in order to help raise funds for my nephew Joey's Services and celebration of life. 

We do not have the words to describe the gratitude that we feel for every person that helped share a flyer in person and on social media, that helped search in person in the desert and through the town/surrounding cities, for our prayer warriors, and everyone that rallied around the purpose of bringing Joey home- Thank you to all who supported and helped us. 

After an extensive search for Joseph John Alvarez Espinoza (Joey), by family, friends, the 29 Palms Community, and last but not least, by the Joshua Tree National Park Search and Rescue Team, we were delivered the terrible news on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 26, 2021, that the search and rescue team had located Joey's body while searching in the desert.

This is not the outcome that any of us had imagined; we are still heart broken and learning to navigate the grief of our Joey no longer being physically here with us. Our only comfort is that while we were not able to greet him home, that he was greeted by big Joey (Joey's dad) and Papa Uriel (Joey's grandfather), and that he is no longer in any pain. We appreciate everyone who has reached out and stopped by the house, and for the continue prayers and support. 

We do not have the full investigation report or the coroner's report, but once we do we will begin to plan for Joey's services and celebration of life and share those details. In the meantime, I am setting up this page to anticipate some of the costs that will be coming.

Any donation would be appreciated, as well as continued prayers for the family. And, again, thank you to everyone for showing Joey's family/friends that we were not alone- Thank you for your willingness to help our family.
