Help for Lucky

Hi my name is Sarah and I’m fundraising to try and help our dear friends with a totally unexpected vets bill for their fur baby Lucky the Cockapoo.

Anyone who knows the Nelsons knows what a truly amazing family they are and the absolute heart ache they had after losing the beloved son Reece at just 8 years old in 2012 to a brain tumour.

In 2013 they bought a dog to try and bring a little bit of happiness back into their family home. That’s when we all met Lucky and fell in love with him. Since the death of little Reecie, Debbie & Steve have concentrated their efforts in helping others by organising various fundraisers and charitable events to raise awareness and money for The Brain Tumour Charity including in 2016 a lengthy cycle ride by Charlie their other son who was just 13 years old at the time.

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Lucky was attacked on Tuesday by an XL Bully whilst on a dog walk. He has suffered horrific injuries and trauma and is currently still receiving life saving treatment. We still are unsure if he will make it but we are praying for the Nelson’s that he does.

Whichever way it goes I want to help and hope that you can too in whatever way you can. The Nelson’s are not the type of family that would create a go fund me page or ask for help as they are just too proud. This is also the first ever time I have reached out like this and whilst it feels awkward, I just can’t imagine the pain they are suffering especially as we are dog lovers and also own a cockapoo who we can’t imagine life without.
