This little Princess and her amazing family are desperately in need of some community support and compassion to help them medically at the moment.
This gorgeous little girls name is Ella-Mae, and she is 4 and a half years old.
For two and a half years, I had the pleasure of being called her step Mum and I am blessed to still be very close family friends with her inspiring Mummy.
This little girl is literally sunshine wrapped in flesh.
Sassy, cheeky and intelligent, she is always found chasing her big brothers and dancing to the beat of her own little drum.
She is so compassionate and empathic that she is always trying to rescue every bug or animal she comes across naming them all "baby" or cuddling with her Mumma.
Slow to speak, a horrific snorer and having aponea episodes from birth, Ella has been delayed in many milestones.
Her amazing Mummy Leah, has been actively pushing and chasing up the public health care system for support and specialist assessment and kept being told she was fine, or being given the wrong referrals and having to start again. Mothers instincts are what they are though and she didn't give up.
Mum was able to get some money together from family to see a specialtist today and the news was worse than expected.
While it was agreed her tonsils and adenoids need to come out urgently, we also found out that Ella is clinically deaf in both ears.
She is going to need surgery to drain the excessive fluid built up in her ears, and assess suitability for hearing aids or see if she needs more.
The specialist has given quotes and stated that the surgery really needs to happen as soon as possible as each day longer it takes, more damage is being done to her ears and brain from the lack of oxygen.
Mum has been given just 3 weeks to raise to raise the money required.
The public wait list has said by comparison, Ella would be wait listed for a minimum of 18 months, which is not an option.
Leah, her Mother, is a single Mum of 4 who is currently pregnant. This Woman has overcome every challenge thrown at her by life and has the biggest heart of most Women I have met.
Leah is always the first to help out others and ask nothing in return, this is the first time she has hit a brick wall and doesn't know what to do to help her little princess get the medical support she needs.
If you can help in any way, even if not financially but by offering advice on who else may be able to help, we would all really appreciate it
••NDIS is NDIS and while Ella is linked in now, it's a constant battle and they don't have funding to help with this.
••• going public isn't an option any more as waitlists in the local area are beyond over stretched and if it wasn't for Mum scrapping together what she could already to see a private speacilist this little Princess would still be waiting.
*** all money raised will go directly to medical costs and needs to make this surgery happen.
