Life Saving Ablation For German Sheppard Dog Baron
Donation protected
Baron, our 2 year old German Sheppard dog, is a beloved member of the family. We love him with all our hearts. We were terrified when he began to struggle with his health. In November of 2019 he was rushed into life saving surgery after the doctors at our local veterinary hospital discovered he had an infection the size of a grapefruit in his abdomen. Much to our relief, Baron survived the surgery. However, the veterinarians noticed something else was wrong. Baron suffers from heart arrhythmias known as Supra ventricular tachycardia and premature atrial contractions. After 8 months of treating him with medications, he still has life threatening runs with a heart rate over 300 beats per minute. Due to the failure of the meds and the undesirable side affects, his cardiologist recommended a procedure only performed at 2 Veterinary Hospitals in the entire country. Known as ablation, this life saving procedure burns the nerve causing the arrhythmia. It might get him off his meds and can completely stop his heart arrhythmia. Cardiac Ablation has a 95% success rate and would be done by the cardiologist Dr. Kathy Wright at Med Vet in Cincinnati, Ohio. The procedure is tentatively scheduled for the 11th of August. Due to the cost of his prior surgeries, the studies of his heart, medications, travel and the surgery itself, we are finding ourselves having difficulty covering the costs. Baron is only two years old. He is affectionate, playful, mischievous and unnecessarily vocal sometimes, lol. Just like all dogs he deserves a long healthy life without medications, repeated tests or getting his fur shaved so he can wear a heart monitor vest. Our family loves Baron with all our hearts. If you can contribute in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Even a small donation can help us to give Baron the healthy life he deserves. Thank you and God Bless.
