Help Us Honor Marcella's Final Wishes
Donation protected
How do you say goodbye to someone you've loved your entire life? How do you say goodbye to a daughter, a sister, a mother? How do you ensure that their final wishes are carried out properly? Who truly has the answers to such questions, and yet my 7 siblings and I, along with our parents, are currently attempting to do just that.
On August 14, 2024, my sister, Marcella, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma Lung Cancer with metastasis to her spine, bones, liver, and brain. She immediately began her journey attempting to treat the widespread cancer even though her prognosis was terminal. Over the next few weeks, Marcella's health would continue to decline at such a rapid pace that continued treatment no longer seemed like a viable option for our sister. Her body only continued to be riddled with the cancer, leaving Marcella struggling to breathe comfortably on her own, extremely fatigued, and in enormous amounts of pain.
Upon a recent trip to the ER, in which she was transferred to ICU, she finally confessed to the family that she did not want to continue with treatment options. With everyone understanding what this means, we are in the midst of arranging her end-of-life wishes.
We're hoping that any donations made can help us provide our sister with a meaningful service as well as lay Marcella to rest, peacefully.
Though this experience has happened rather quickly, Marcella—a daughter, sister, and mother—has always remained incredibly positive and light-hearted. Never once wanting to sound morbid regardless of the heartbreaking outcome of it all. She's laughed, smiled, joked, and been so incredibly selfless.
Saying goodbye is impossible.
All of this seems impossible.
Please help us do the impossible for a daughter, our sister, a mom.
Anything is appreciated.
Thank you and God Bless.
