Brewer Family Tragedy occured Monday as the family was headed home after visiting relatives in Corpus Christi for the holiday weekend.
State troopers say the family of four was hauling a trailer behind their pickup truck as they drove northbound on I-37 around 5:15 p.m.
Clifton Brewer, 49, told troopers he fell asleep behind the wheel, then overcorrected, causing the truck and trailer to flip.
The Department of Public Safety said the trailer crushed the truck, killing 42-year-old Melissa Brewer.
Clifton Brewer, 11-year-old Cierra Brewer, and 74-year-old Patricia Brewer were all injured and are now at University Hospital.
