Help bring Albie home

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am raising funds to help pay the staggering medical expenses of Albus Maxwell, otherwise known as Albie.

Three years ago, Albie was diagnosed with diabetes and began receiving insulin twice a day. He has thrived under the constant care and vigilance of my daughter Leah.

Two weeks ago, Albie went into diabetic ketoacidosis, a life threatening condition that can only be treated with hospitalization and critical medical care. He has been at Blue Pearl, a specialty veterinary hospital, for two weeks now and his bill is currently $20,000.

Yes, it’s crazy. Yes, it is a staggering amount of money. Yes, he is Leah’s baby and she would do anything for him.

Leah has had Albie since she was 19 years old. He has been her constant companion, her buddy and her joy through every crisis and every joy of her adult life and there have been many. She has no illusions that he will live forever. But he is healthy, his organs are all healthy and there are no underlying medical conditions that should keep him from recovering. It just takes time and money.
