I want to update Kenzie’s diagnosis. It’s NMDA autoimmune encephalitis. We have a long road of recovery ahead of us. She will need to relearn to walk, speak, and use her hands to feed herself which won’t happen till she’s more stable and improving from treatments. Lots more infusions and treatments ahead of us. I would like to add a HUGE thank you’s to those who have donated so far.
Looks like we will have a long road ahead of us longer time off for Mark. :( we are here for a quite awhile.
Little McKenzie (granddaughter of Brenda and Donald Manzanares in Valencia Ward) has been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks with unexplained seizures. Doctors have several ideas of what could be wrong but still running so many tests and trying so many medicines. She has lost ability to remember how to speak and even use the bathroom and now may have a feeding tube placed since she is choking due to seizures. Mark and Stephanie are at the hospital around the clock with her and as a result are using up their available funds to eat out and pay bills since Mark has no FMLA for this year and losing income when he is at the hospital. Money should be the last worry when trying to get your baby better. Anything helps for this amazing family.
