Help Our Friend Mariam

Mariam Diallo is an incredible person who provides gentle, loving care to many of our children in and out of school at Hilltop Montessori School (as the Toddler Assistant and AfterCare Program Director for Children's House and Toddler Program) and in the local community. She works tirelessly to support Hilltop's children, has been a volunteer in orphanages in Mali (her homeland), currently helps with an orphanage in Haiti (a project she began after the earthquake), and even manages to find time to volunteer locally. She is an extremely hard worker and always seems to have a smile on her face, making the world a brighter place!

In August 2014, Mariam had to have major surgery to remove fibroid tumors from her uterus. This surgery incurred a large amount of debt for Mariam. She is still working to make payments on the $3,000 left that she owes for that surgery.

On April 20th of this year, Mariam endured an unexpected surgery to correct a hernia that had developed as a result of last summer's surgery. This incurred approximately $2,000 of additional costs.

Since Mariam is such an extraordinary person, I felt compelled to become involved to see if we could raise some money for her so she can be free of the financial stress and burden that these surgeries have put on her.
