Support Eds fight against cancer

If you’ve been missing my dad Eds beautiful sunrise and beach photos, you’re not alone. Unfortunately, he’s been facing a difficult battle that has kept him from the beach and being able to share those moments with all of us.

This past summer, my dad began feeling unwell and in the fall, he was diagnosed with throat and tongue cancer. On November 5th, he underwent a grueling seven-hour surgery at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. While we had hoped for a seamless recovery from the surgery, so he could begin radiation therapy, many complications arose that slowed his progress.

Recently, we received devastating news—the cancer has spread to other, more very concerning areas. Due to complications from its progression, my dad has been moved back to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where doctors are working to determine the full extent of the spread and what treatment options remain. At this time, there is no set timeline for his next steps with treatment.

The past six months have taken an immense toll on my dad physically, emotionally, and mentally. He has been through so much already, and now he is facing an even greater challenge. On top of that, the stress of medical expenses and daily responsibilities weighs heavily on him and one of his main concerns is making sure Amy, who has been by his side every step of the way, isn’t overwhelmed trying to handle everything alone.

To help ease some of the burden, I have taken it upon myself to start this campaign on my dad’s behalf. GoFundMe requires a fundraising "goal", but in truth, any amount of support—big or small—would make a meaningful difference. Our hope is that by lifting some of the financial strain, my dad can focus fully on what matters most: fighting this disease and getting better with his wife by his side.

My dad is an incredible man—someone who finds joy in the simple beauty of a sunrise/sunset, who loves his family and his dogs deeply. Now, he needs our support. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he begins the next steps of his battle
