On May 22nd, 2014 Afton Wallace was diagnosed with Stage IV, Metastatic Ewing’s Sarcoma. This disease is an aggressive childhood bone cancer that had spread from her pelvic bone to numerous spots all over her body. Afton was rushed by life-flight to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where she spent six weeks undergoing emergency radiation and extensive chemotherapy treatments. During the next 12 months, Afton spent 120 days in the hospital, underwent 45 radiation treatments, and received 70 doses of chemotherapy and has experienced three near-death emergencies. The cancer has caused permanent nerve damage to her left leg and she is no longer able to walk without assistance. Details about her cancer journey can be found on her Facebook Page at:
