Help Joey fight Liver Disease!!

For over 30 years Joey has been the sassy bartender with the quick wit and ability to make you laugh sometimes at your own expense. During this time, Joey Parker has served you your favorite cocktail, listened to your stories and even made some really good friends.  Now unfortunately he needs your help.  Joey is suffering from End Stage Liver Disease and requires a liver transplant in order to survive.

This page is to raise money for a long-time Key West resident of over 30 years and everyone’s favorite bartender at the Sugarloaf Tiki and many Key West haunts, dating all the way to the Copa. He is suffering from End Stage Liver Disease and requires a liver transplant. 

Joey was diagnosed a little over a month ago and is struggling to get health insurance or any type of assistance. He has applied for disability and has been denied.  He has been unable to work due to his rapidly declining health.   Greg Gerwin is managing the day to day care while trying to work two jobs to cover their everyday cost of living.  
With frequent doctor visits and the ongoing need for procedures and prescriptions, the medical bills are mounting.  

Joey is in desperate need of a liver transplant, which is his only hope at this point. 

We are hopeful that with a little help from family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers with big hearts, we can ease some of the financial burden for Joey and Greg.  Joey is going to have a long journey ahead of him, and we are unclear at this point as to just how extensive the medical bills will actually be. 

Imagine being independent your whole life and then becoming so ill that you are physically unable to provide for yourself and assistance is nowhere to be found.
