Barney the West Coast Cockatoo birthdayfundraiser

Hi everyone! This year we are doing a special birthday fundraiser for Barney's friends that are still waiting for their new forever home at Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary. We are starting this on Dad/Tim's Birthday (Nov 4th), and ending on Barney's 30th. We don't actually know Barney's hatch day, so we use the day he came to live in his new forever home, January 30th (2019).

Greyhaven is a great organization that has been helping parrots for over 25 years now. They have a wonderful team of volunteers that come in every day to look after the birds. They do a great job finding people that are wanting to adopt a parrot and give them the forever home that each one of them deserve. Unfortunately there also seems to be a steady stream of new parrots that are relinquished to Greyhaven. There are many reasons for this to happen. You would think that most parrots that are surrendered are unwanted, but in truth many people don't want to give up their parrot friends but have to because of health problems, and as people age they don't have the ability to look after them properly anymore.

I'm hoping this fundraiser can help Greyhaven continue their work they do. It can be very expensive looking after so many birds, from medical bills to everyday needs, donating and fundraising is the only way they can continue doing this.

So, in honour of Barney's 30th Gotcha Day, we are asking for donations for this great cause. Please help if you can! Every dollar received will go directly to Greyhaven, and the total amount will be announced on January 30th, 2024.
