Texas Tango is a youth club ultimate frisbee team in Austin, TX for under-20 girls and non-binary youth! Our season runs from May through August and culminates in the Youth Club Championship (YCC), where we compete against other girl’s club teams from across the United States. This tournament is always held in Blaine, MN, and the travel costs per person are fairly steep. Players are responsible for paying for their own jerseys, bid fees, and their flights and hotel rooms in Minnesota for the tournament.

Since NO high schools in Texas have a girl’s ultimate program, most of our players typically play on mixed gender teams with their school during the school year, and playing Tango over the summer is the only opportunity to play with other girls and non-binary players their age. The Youth Club Championship is also the only tournament that Tango will participate in this season, so it is also the only opportunity to play AGAINST girls and non-binary players their age.

Tango has previously had sponsors that help with scholarships for players who need financial assistance in getting to YCC. We have lost some of that funding this year and are hoping to raise money from the community to ensure that ALL of our players get to participate without barriers. YCC is an incredibly fun and valuable experience for the players, and we want everyone to be able to attend! Anything raised above the goal will go to helping reduce costs for players next year.
