Texas A&M Formula SAE Electric Racing

Howdy!

We are the Texas A&M Society of Automotive Engineers Formula Electric Racing Team! Each year, our team is tasked with designing, fabricating, and testing a formula-style electric race car to compete in the Formula SAE Electric competition!

This year, we will be competing at the Michigan International Speedway against 74 other universities in June. We are working hard and need your support to deliver a competitive electric vehicle. Additionally, we have our sights set on competing internationally against 90 other teams from around the globe by 2026!

Our Story:

The Texas A&M Society of Automotive Engineers Formula Electric Racing program was founded in the spring of 2021 after years of deliberation and discussion and is now one of the top engineering organizations at Texas A&M University. The program offers students invaluable real-world experience that catalyzes their technical and professional development as both engineers and industry professionals. Additionally, we have laid the foundation for a sustainable business, marketing, and sales platform that is providing our members with hands-on experience in the automotive business industry. Students here will learn to think critically and justify engineering design decisions, validate and present their ideas, and bring those ideas to reality by working as a team to build a competitive race car. Last year, we placed 17th in design out of 59 eligible teams, and this year, we aim to win. Texas A&M SAE Formula Electric Racing students have secured jobs at some of the world’s best engineering companies, and your support will help continue our legacy of excellence!

Breakdown:

In preparation for the upcoming competition in Michigan, we are working to raise funds for various expenses required to compete at a high level. These costs include materials and parts, tires for testing, and other expenses related to competition logistics. As students, our financial resources are limited, and our program wouldn’t be possible without generous and committed sponsors and supporters. If you are interested in supporting us, we would greatly appreciate any contribution no matter the amount, as each dollar puts us one step closer to competing.

All donations received through this fundraiser will be used solely for necessary competition-related expenditures.

ROLLOUT UPDATE:

After months of hard work and weeks of long nights in the shop, AME24 is here!!! On Sunday March 24 the team unveiled our 2024 race car and livery at our Rollout event. We had over 400 people come out to support the Texas A&M Society of Automotive Engineers Program and it was truly something special! There was food, games, and lots of car talk, you really had to be there to experience it! While this was a huge milestone in this year’s season, the work isn’t done yet. There are still many more hours to be put in and tires to be worn through before we get to Michigan. Next step: to the track!

Thank you for your time and support!
