After experiencing an ischemic stroke in 2023, our co-founder Dragan Popovich realized something unexpected: the hardest moments weren’t in the clinic, but at home...struggling to find words, stay focused, and regain confidence.
Yet nearly 90% of stroke recovery happens outside therapy sessions, where there is little structured support.
A former colleague and friend, David Jennings, convinced Dragan to "stay in the game.” Together, they decided to build Nurova, a simple daily companion app designed to help stroke survivors navigate those moments. Nurova helps users organize their thoughts, find the words they’re trying to say, stay mentally engaged, and rebuild confidence in everyday life.
It’s not a replacement for therapy - it’s support between sessions, where recovery truly happens, and Nurova can rekindle confidence.
We are raising $12,000 to fund a 6-month pilot with 50 stroke survivors who have already committed to participating. This funding will support development, secure infrastructure, and tools to measure clarity, engagement, and progress.
Our goal is to validate that small, daily moments of support can improve communication, reduce isolation, and help survivors feel more like themselves again.
Your support helps bring this first version of Nurova to life - and helps build a new layer of recovery support for stroke survivors everywhere.
