Tessa Miller to compete for Team Canada at WAGCs in Spain
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tessa Miller. I am a 13 year old trampolinist at Kingston Aeros Trampoline Club and I have qualified for my first World Age Group Championships in Pamplona, Spain. I have been selected to represent Team Canada in both Double Mini Trampoline and Individual trampoline.
I began my trampoline career in level 3 last year, not expecting too much as I was using trampoline as a way to keep active after stopping artistic gymnastics. I immediately fell in love with the sport and pushed myself to learn new skills, jump higher and improve my form.
After a summer full of dedication and perseverance, I learned many new skills that I was eager to perform on a competition stage in level 4. After mobilizing to level 5 on both events and hitting my national qualifying score on DMT, I was more motivated than ever to hit my national qualifying score on trampoline as well. I had one opportunity to so, which was Ontario Provincial Championships, where I performed routines I was very happy with and qualified for National Championships in Calgary for that discipline as well.
Throughout the month leading up to nationals, I worked extremely hard on improving my execution and time of flight to give me the best shot at succeeding at Nationals. I ended up qualifying for my first ever World Championships on both events. I am so proud of how far I've come and it would mean so much to me if I could attend this competition, which would not only give me the once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to Spain, but would also give me experience on a world stage, relationships with other athletes and coaches, a chance represent my nation and an extra chance to mobilize to junior.
Having all this said, this amazing experience does not come without a cost... the total price of this competition would be around $11 000, including travel, accommodations, competition fees and team apparel. I know that fundraising the full cost is highly out of reach, however, anything you can contribute is highly appreciated!
Go Team Canada!!
