Hi, my name is Ant & I am seeking to
raise £4,000 in time to help try to save
my wife’s life.
Just over 2 months ago Tess was
diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer -
Non Small Squamous Cell Carcinoma (T1b N3 M0). This was a complete shock
coming just 2 days after her 55th
birthday and we’re all still reeling in
shock and heartbreak.
Although the tumour (in her top left lung) is still small (1.9cm), the cancer has
spread to both her supraclavicular (above collarbone) and mediastinal lymph
nodes (the centre of her chest between
lungs and heart). It is currently
considered inoperable, advanced and
incurable. but hopefully none of these
words mean terminal. We’re taking
things day by day and trying to stay as
positive as possible through this
dreadfully scary time.
Following her 1st Oncology appointment on 22 June, her Oncologist has highly
recommended a new cancer blood test
called Guardant360cdx to help
determine the best course of targeted
treatment for her. This new blood test
offers comprehensive genomic DNA
testing & profiling of the tumour and is
for patients with advanced non-small cell solid lung tumour cancers. She says Tess is anideal candidate.
It is able to detect up to 60% more
targetable genetic mutations her cancer has which are undetectable on solid
tissue sampling alone. It goes without
saying that this could help enormously toprofile the best treatment, and I hope
can improve my lovely wife’s chances of survival. please see link below
This U.S based test is unfortunately not
available on the NHS, it is of course not
free, costing approximately £1500 which we simply don’t have, and we need to
ask for your help please. We hate asking for help when so many of us are
financially struggling as it is, we really do.But it’s the only way we can hope to
cover this.
As you are all aware Tess played music &worked joyfully in the arts in Leicester & Leicestershire for years before she
became too unwell to work in 2005 due
to a horrible range of chronic physical & mental health conditions. Additionally
our already just 1-salary household
income has also been reduced. And we
really can’t do this without also asking forhelp towards the numerous associated
costs including the additional travel,
transport, parking, lost income, cosmetic treatment & any medical expenses &
equipment required for advanced cancer treatment.
If enough people could chip in just a littlewe might be able to reach the target for
the Guardant360 blood test as soon as
possible so she can get on the best
treatment designed specifically for her
cancer asap. The blood samples are sent to America with results in 7 days. And wedon’t want to run out of time. Because of the targeting & starting treatment time-
frame, we need to set a deadline of July 9 2022 for this crowd-funding effort.
