Tesco is the leading UK retailer of intensively farmed broiler chickens. Despite multiple appeals, they are refusing to let go of fast-growing breeds and guarantee enough space and light to their chickens. Countless investigations from factory farms have shown the systematic suffering that these conditions cause. We've seen birds that can't stand on their own feet or spread their wings. We've seen injured and dead chickens, inches away from their living peers.
As a response, Open Cages are fundraising to launch a nation-wide outdoor advertising campaign #TescoTruth. To make Tesco fix the problems in their production chain, we must make sure their customers know what is going on behind closed doors. But we don't have massive funds or professional ad agencies behind us, so we need your help! Together, we can tell Tesco that the way they source their broilers is simply unacceptable.
The goal of our campaign is to convince Tesco to sign the European Chicken Commitment, which would significantly reduce suffering in broiler farming. Your donation will help us fight for a better world for animals.
