Tesco Produce Team 24 Summits Challenge 2025
You can make a real difference to our rural communities in England and Wales by supporting the determined Tesco Produce Team and their supplier colleagues as they challenge themselves to scale 24 summits in Cumbria over just two days.
Over the course of 18/19 June a team of around 50 individuals from the Tesco Produce Team and their suppliers plan to conquer:
Day One - The Langdale Loop - 26km and 1,866m of ascent
Including the scaling of the summit of Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain. After reaching Scafell Pike the route heads back towards Langdale, ticking off the peaks as you go, before descending back into the valley.
Day Two - The Fairfield route - 21km and 1,433m of ascent
Starting near Ambleside up to the summit of Red Screes before heading west and ticking off peaks finishing the day on the summit of Fairfield before descending directly down to the hostel. This is a long day that includes some of the most famous mountains in the Lake District, all directly overlooking lake Windermere!
The team will be hiking for more than 12 hours on the first day and 10 and half hours on the second day - exhausting or what?!
This is not a challenge for the fainthearted, and toenails have already been sacrificed for the cause...
The intrepid team are dedicated to raise as much funding as possible for Addington Fund, a niche farming charity working across England and Wales to provide:
• Housing for farmers faced with the loss of their homes through no fault of their own,
• Emergency relief, through Forage Aid, when disaster strikes,
• A New Entrant Scheme, with the aim of giving first generation farmers the opportunity to take the first step on the farming ladder.
