A lot of you reading this will already be familiar with my story, but for those who aren't

When I was 14, I was diagnosed with kidney disease. This was managed till I was 26 with medication, until my condition eventually became bad enough to start dialysis for the first time .

Now, 12 years down the line, at almost 38 I am on my third round of dialysis treatment. In those years I have had two failed transplants and a whole host of other complications including pulmonary embolisms, meningitis, pneumonia, a collapsed lung, and a bunch of other not so nice side effects and symptoms.

Recently my biggest issue has been my decline in mobility. I started walking with a stick last summer, which I now rely on daily.

Unfortunately since my last bout of pneumonia over Christmas, this has worsened. A weakness and loss of muscle mass, as well as nerve damage and extreme fatigue. means even a small walk around town has become extremely tiring.

It has been a long path and I need a little help along the way now. That's why I'm trying to raise some money for a small, affordable mobility scooter, to maintain my mobility and independence, to get out and enjoy the world with my family and friends
