Hi, I'm Phil. I am writing this story in hopes of sparking some help for my best friend, Terry Creger. Terry has been newly diagnosed with stage-4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. As I type this story, Terry is at Oklahoma University Medical Center undergoing chemotherapy. His treatments consist of 5 bags of chemo, one after the other. Each one takes 22 hours to cycle through his body. As some of you may know, chemotherapy is extremely hard on one's body. After a 5 day stay in the hospital, Terry has to have a shot of Neulasta to kickstart the re-growth of all the white blood cells the chemo killed during treatment. Once he is able to go home, it usually takes him about a week to recover from the fatigue he experiences as a result of the chemotherapy. Two weeks later, he repeats the entire scenario. As you can probably imagine, being in the hospital for 5 days, every three weeks, then incapacitated for almost a week after that, has left Terry unable to financially take care of himself any longer. His job has just dropped a bombshell in that they will be letting him go in mid-November and hiring someone to fill his position. Thank God he is receiving short-term disability until December. Terry is still trying to go thru the grieving process, of having laid to rest his dear Mother, Emajean, only 3 month's ago. Now he is left wondering not only how he will survive this fight with cancer, but he was also diagnosed with HIV. The drugs alone to stay alive cost thousands of dollars. He really hasn't even had the time to worry about where he'll live in 3 month's or how he'll feed himself, or how he will pay back all of the medical bills that are piling up.
Terry is in desperate need of financial assistance as he fights the fight of his life! He has the biggest, kindest, warmest heart one could imagine and he really needs our help. Anything donated is GREATLY APPRECIATED! Any gift, no matter the size, will go towards the rent he can no longer pay and the food he can no longer afford to buy, the medication he so desperately needs and the basic utilities it takes to operate his home.
In today's world, we all see stories in the news and on Facebook of people in need and think "I wish I could help". This is it! Here you can help someone that would literally give you the shirt off of his back if he knew you were in need. Terry has been paying it forward his whole life, as a giving & caring soul.
I personally thank any and everybody that finds it in their heart to give to Terry's cause, no matter how big or small, THANK YOU, ALL! I know Terry thanks you too for caring, praying & donating.
Please help fight his fight...
