Helping Hands for Healing

In 2012 my mom Terry Pinkney was diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon Cancer. She had a surgery to remove the tumor and her form of treatment at that time was Xeloda by mouth. Which is a pill form of chemotherapy. It was successful at that point of time, until October 2015. We found out, that she had an 8-inch tumor and was rediagnosed to stage 4. They did an emergency surgery, removed the tumor and we did chemotherapy treatments every 2 weeks for 6 months. She walked in her healing until abruptly the tumors returned in July of 2017 and had another surgery which removed some of her small bowel. Then the tumors returned again December of 2017. January 16, 2018 she was scheduled to get a procedure called Hipec that would take 10 to 12 hours, and would be a removal of all the tumors and then a round of chemotherapy for 90 minutes. Well low and behold after the incision and about 4 hours into the surgery I was notified that they couldn't move forward in the surgery. They said there was nothing they could do because there were too many tumors in various places. This rocked me to my core. My mother doesn't smoke, drink, hang in the streets, she is very classy, respectful, hardworking and has never had anything negative to say about NOBODY. No matter what they have said or did to her. Her favorite saying is "it's gone work out". And we do believe that. The night of the failed attempt of the Hipec surgery we contacted Cancer Center Treatment of America. We were excited to hear their response to her case. They do genetic and genomic testing to get further insight into the make-up and composition of the exact cancer with the goal of opening other treatment options. Which means just because the cancer was first seen in the colon doesn't mean its colon cancer, especially without doing the genetic and genomic testing. She could have been being treated for a cancer that is not even the exact cancer they say it is. We gave them her information and her insurance information and we were ready and excited to do what was next. Then we find out the next day that none of the 5 facilities take her insurance which is Carefirst. Astonished at this because that was our next form of action. They told us in order for us to move forward the next course of action is cash and we need to make a deposit. So here we are. We don't have that kind of money in our hands but our prayer is that, if you could find it in your hearts to help us please. We're switching to a plant-based diet and trusting and believing God for her healing, praying and believing His word. With that and your help we will be attacking this disease from every angle.
