I am starting this go fund me page for a number of reasons. Music has had a monumental influence in my life, most notably with the Terry Parker Band. I graduated in 1991, under the direction of Mr. Ward Green. Band made me who I am today. I look back and remember fondly all of the games, shows, competitions and concerts we played in. This did not come without a price. We, as a band, with the help of extremely dedicated band parents and the unwavering support of Mr. Green, were, what I considered a very sucessful entity. No matter what year you graduated or what director you played for, there are always things to look back on, memories that will always be with you. We worked as a group, practiced, had fun, and at the end of the year, were rewarded and honored for hard work throughout the school year. It was a time to look back at where we were at the beginning of the year. To me, this all magically happened (being a teenager), but, really, there was a lot of time spent putting together the band banquets, football games, competitions, and trips.

Flash forward 26 years, and you have a whole different ballgame. Music funding is minimal at best.

How many of you were affected in any way by your time spent in the Terry Parker Band? Fundraising is completely different than when we were in band. We are at a time where we, as alumni, need to step up and make a difference in a child's life. It's not just about honoring their accomplishments, but, stepping up to make a difference. Make a difference in someone's life who's dream it may be to play in the band, but, just can't afford it. Make a difference by donating time, and giving back to an organization that is looked upon as one of the great bands in not only Jacksonville or Florida.. even further than we can imagine.

At this time, what I am asking for is simple. I am asking for all of you that had a good experience in band, to give back. Give back so these current stuents feel like we did.

I am asking for those alumni that are signed up on a page remembering Parker's band to donate $5.00

What will this get this year's band?
-A band banquet
-Awards for their accomplishments
- Dry cleaning for Marching Band uniforms for nexxt season

This may seem like not a lot to some, but I promise you, boosting the confidence of this current band, and letting them know we stand proudly behind them could make the difference to change the culture of what they are currently experiencing i.e. lack of funding.

Even if you weren't part of Terry Parker's Band, and just love music, or were part of another band.... contribute.

You never know who's life you might change. It only takes a little effort.
