Support Terry "Mess" Messal's journey with cancer

Hi, my name is Erik and I'm fundraising for my dad Terry "Mess" Messal who was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer in August. He is currently undergoing chemo and radiation treatments to prolong life.

My dad is truly a light in the music world. From his celebrated career as bassist for L.A. bands, Flies on Fire (ATCO Records) and Vitamade (Bongload Records), to his Albuquerque years as bassist for Alien Space Kitchen, Mess has enriched the lives of fans and bandmates alike with his maniacal performances and winning personality. In fact, it was his bandmates in Alien Space Kitchen and their sister band, the Dildon'ts, who came up with the idea of having a fundraiser for Mess.

Coming from humble origins in the dusty desert town of Alamogordo, New Mexico, ‘Mess’ toured every corner of the U.S. from Anchorage to Boston. He toured stadiums across Canada with the Tragically Hip, as a member of Flies on Fire.

Currently, Terry spends his time writing and publishing poetry in local journals, like Fixed and Free Quarterly, and uploading video performances to FB. With the ‘sunset’ coming sooner than he expected, he plans to spend his remaining time writing poetry and rocking out in his music room.
