Friends - Update as of 12.17.18! We are very happy with the contributions received so far - we have adjusted the total Goal to be $3,750 (3 months rent) and we have figured out how to make that work for Terry. Last June, our sister, Terry K Carr was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and though it was caught in the early stages, she's spent the last five months undergoing Chemotherapy to reduce the odds of it returning.
Fortunate to have full health coverage she, unlike many others, has not had to deal with medical bills. But since being diagnosed she has used up savings and credit limits for living expenses.
It takes several months to regain normal stamina after chemo and Terry is looking forward to being back up-to-speed (half speed would be good).
We want to see her get to the other side of this difficult time without any further challenges. So we are hoping to raise $5,000 to cover four months of her rental housing at $1,250 per month. (Her insurance and other expenses are covered by her Social Security check and temporary assistance from California.)
