Terry Chermak was a beautiful soul and shining light for all who had the privilege of having her in their lives. She was a beloved grandmother, mother, daughter, and sister. An avid runner and reader, her kindness extended beyond her friends and family to include pets. Terry had a wicked sense of humor and quick wit. She loved to laugh. She was a huge Green Bay Packers and Harry Potter fan. Unfortunately, Terry was often quick to forgive, and her life ended prematurely at the hands of an abuser.

Terry's family is devastated by their loss, especially as it has been so abrupt and tragic. Terry’s legacy includes her two sons, who will be traveling from great distances to endure multiple court proceedings to bring Terry’s killer to justice. They will be paying for memorial services and estate issues. We have established this fund to honor Terry’s memory and support her family. Her remaining estate should support her beloved boys and her grandchildren, not be exhausted to resolve the legal issues created at the hands of violence.

The beneficiary will manage these funds. Terry's brother-in-law David Bryant will reimburse authorized expenses used to pay for Terry’s cremation, funeral expenses, travel/housing for immediate family, and legal fees. Terry’s final post on Facebook was The National Domestic Violence Hotline. The phone number she offered for victims of domestic violence is 1-800-799-7233 or text “START” (78278) to Crisis Text Line at 88788. Any remaining funds will be distributed to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence to assist victims of domestic violence in honor of Terry. I will continue to update the legal case bringing her abuser to justice.
