Hi, my name is Jake Connis and I will be running the ABP Southampton Marathon on 6th April 2025 in order to raise money in memory of my two special grandmothers who are sadly no longer with us.

I owe so much of who I am today to my grandmothers; Sheila and Terry, who both played massive roles in my upbringing and were such special, beautiful people. I miss them so much.

I will be raising money for Cruse Bereavement Support as this is a charity that offered me support and guidance during the two most difficult periods of my life so far. Without the information on their website and the support from their volunteers, the grieving process would have been so much more difficult for me.

This marathon will be a big personal test for me as I have never been much of a 'long distance runner', I tend to prefer a nice 5k here and there! However, I am looking forward to the challenge.

In order for this charity to continue supporting people who are struggling with the loss of a loved one, they rely somewhat on donations from members of the public. Therefore, it would be great to raise some money for them by doing this Marathon!
