Husband. Father. Son. Pappy. Uncle. Brother. Pastor. Friend. Colleague.

 

These are just a few titles our dad, Terry Callaway, carries in this life. He has made an impact on so many lives over the years. And we hope that we can all rally behind him now, in his time of need. In 2018, his cancer story started when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After surgery and radiation, he was in remission for some time. However, throughout the last year, his routine follow-up bloodwork and screenings showed the cancer was still present (and increasing) in his body. A couple of months ago, a mass finally showed up, and the doctors were able to move forward with identifying this cancer. His diagnosis this time is Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma- and to be more specific- Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma, Stage 3, Double-Expressor. This mouthful of words means our dad is currently undergoing inpatient chemo treatment and other procedures, including spinal taps. Every treatment means he is in the hospital for around 5-6 days and home for 15 days, rinse and repeat.

 

He started this journey on June 3rd, almost immediately after the detailed diagnosis. He has one chemo treatment under his belt and will have six total (possibly more), depending on how he is responding after the 3rd treatment. His inpatient treatments are almost an hour away from our parents' home and with the cost of gas and medical expenses it will take a toll on their bank account. We hope to help our parents with the costs of fuel, out-of-pocket expenses for his various treatments, and other related expenses that come up along the way.

 

We greatly appreciate and cherish every prayer said on our dad's or family's behalf. It means more than we can ever express.
