Terry Brennan, singer songwriter, needs some help

Oct. 28th Update: we are both so blessed by the donations so far, both through go fund me plus private donations. I believe we are up to approx. $1900 so far, which will buy Terry 3 more months of medicine. We are well on the way to being able to order another supply for Terry. I can’t express just how much pain relief Terry gets from this medicine. He deals with so much pain right now, that it’s amazing to find something that works better than the Hydromorphone he takes.

Hi - this is Kate here, and my husband is Terry Brennan.

Those who know us are aware that Terry has been on a big downhill slide health wise for the past few years, but it has become very pronounced this year. I like to tease Terry that he collects diseases since the list he has now is so long that I often leave some out when telling people what he’s dealing with.

Terry has been an award-winning singer/songwriter for the past 60 years. He is well known in BC and western Canada for his beautiful and numerous (250+) well crafted songs. And in fact he has been well recognized for his craft, both in awards and reviews he has received and by other songwriters and musicians, many of whom still play his songs.

Unfortunately and heartbreakingly he is barely able to play and sing anymore, and his health is now so bad that he’s receiving palliative care at home, and spends pretty much all day sleeping, either in his bed or in his recliner.

Through the great generosity of a wonderful and very supportive friend of ours and through charitable donations of the producer, Terry has started an alternative treatment which has helped him so much in many ways that his countless pharmaceuticals just can’t do. This new nature-based treatment helps him to sleep, eases his pain, and calms his anxiety as he faces the continued decline of both his physical and increasingly mental health.

The problem is that this treatment costs $500 per month, which is far beyond our capacity to pay as we barely make it from paycheque to paycheque.

We are asking that you please consider donating towards making him feel better as he faces the hardest time in his life. Even if it’s only $5 or $10…trust me it all will help! We would both be ever so grateful to anyone who can help us in these very challenging times.

And can we also request that you please share this with anyone who might know Terry, or appreciate a musician who has moved so many people over his lifetime.
