Dear Friends & Family of Terry Bender,
My name is Ellen Dilley , I am a close family friend of Terry Bender & her daughter Brandy.
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this, as our beloved Mother, Grandma, Terry Bender has passed away unexpectedly after her battle with several different health conditions. On the morning of July 16th, She left us peacefully, while in her sleep after having a pleasant evening with her family. She was in good spirits the evening prior as she seemed happy & content. Terry has been a long time Whittier Alaska resident. She left behind her daughter, Brandy Bender & Grandson, Chase Graffius, and many other family member, friends, and loved ones in her community. Terry was always the first to offer a hand when she was capable of helping. She spent a lot of time volunteering at the school, helping with the events in the community, etc... We were not prepared in any way for this and have a lot of things that need to be taken care of. We have to clean out and repair her apartment, pay for cremation services, and hopefully a Celebration of her life if the finances are available.
We need YOUR HELP! If you find it in your heart and are able to help Brandy by donating towards her goal that would greatly appreciated. All donations will be collected by Brandy & used towards her mother's end of life expenses.
Just a small side note, as most of you know Brandy, her daughter, has a heart condition and other health issues that she is currently dealing with. If we as a community could step in and help her out during this extremely difficult time, it will help relieve some of the pressure I am sure she is feeling at this time. .
We will be updating everyone on when & where her Celebration of life will be. It will be held.
