It is heartbreaking to look at this wreckage as the aftermath of the deadly car accident my family was involved in.
The holidays are a time to show our family just how much they mean to us by embracing in the reason for the season. Yet, on Saturday, November 26, 2016, when my cousins in the Terrones family were t-boned in a severe car accident, I feared the worst and hoped for the chance to continue to share the holidays with them. Though my family and I have been blessed to have almost everyone who was in the Terrones's filled minivan still with us, there are expenses for the injuries, damages, and grief that resulted from the accident, which are especially hard to account for during this season.
My cousins of the Terrones family are always the life of the party. There were two adults and my five younger cousins all in the minivan that day, their ages between six and fifteen years old. Some suffered worse than others, as three were defined to have life threatening injuries, which was heartwrenching to hear about my family. As for the adults, Randy and Carissa, who suffered serious injuries as well, they are trying to comfort the four boys who were able to return home from the accident, and, revive their spirits with the goofy liveliness Carissa and Randy have always offered my family. It is hard enough with having young children trying to understand the death of one of their brothers, let alone the funds that followed. If our goal for the expenses resulting from this accident are met, they will be used as soon as Monday. It means so much to my family that the community has come together around them in this time, and still respected wishes of privacy. We would be so thankful to have financial aid assisted to the Terrones family so they can try to embrace this season once again as a family should. Thank you for your support!
