Terri's Medical Manifestation Fund

Hello, my name is Terri, and I want to thank you for clicking on my Go Fund Me page today. I appreciate you taking the time to visit and to read my story and my reasons for creating this fundraiser.
You may or may not know me, and you may or may not have been following my story on Facebook, so I will share a little more about it here, albeit a shorter version.
On Dec. 14th, 2021, my elderly mother took a nasty fall and broke both her right elbow as well as her right hip in that incident. I was notified immediately by Life Alert that she was en route to the emergency room via ambulance at that time. From the moment she first fell, I was in daily contact with her medical care team as she moved through her surgery and recovery processes. She was moved multiple times to different floors and rooms within the hospital. She had two moves into skilled nursing facilities, both of which resulted in return visits to the hospital emergency room. I was in touch via telephone throughout, as visitations were strictly regulated due to Covid-19 and Omicron during that time frame. Suffice it to say that she did not recover from her fall and passed away six weeks later on January 31, 2022.
On February 1st, less than 24 hours following her passing, I was rushed to the emergency room via ambulance for sepsis, a lower left lung infection, atrial fibrillation and a very high heart rate. I had been so involved in my mother's medical emergencies that I didn't even realize I was sick too. I spent five days in the hospital and received intravenous antibiotics to combat the two infections, which were ultimately successful in treating both the lung infection and the sepsis, thankfully.
My high heart rate and the atrial fibrillation conditions were not as easily corrected. Upon discharge, I was given referrals for follow-up care with my primary care provider, a well-respected cardiologist, and an endocrinologist within my managed care system.
Unfortunately, my heart rate was still very high. The atrial fibrillation was still present. My new cardiologist also prescribed a new medication to help with my heart rate. The new medicines and the increased dosages of an existing drug for those two conditions made me very light-headed, dizzy, and unable to do much of anything except fix my meals and clean up after myself. We're still working on getting the prescription dosages fine-tuned, so it's a work in progress.
I have not been able to clean out my mother's apartment following her death because I have been sick this past month. And, worst of all, I have not been able to work either, work I love to do too, for the whole month of February 2022. So my income has plummeted in the last four weeks, while my medical expenses are mounting daily. I have pretty good medical insurance, but I also have some sizable co-pays for my hospital stays and ambulance services, money that I do not have. Some of my new medications are pretty pricey too. I would really appreciate some financial help to get through my current health crisis.
I am scheduled for an electrical "reset" procedure to get my heart into sinus rhythm again on March 7th. This procedure requires the co-pay at the time of check-in to the hospital, or I will not be admitted and will have to reschedule it. My cardiologist has clarified that this procedure is needed ASAP to advert potential heart failure. Atrial fibrillation has been a condition of long-standing since June of 2014. So it is not something I can put off any further at this point. This electrical "reset" procedure is a life-saving measure.
THANK YOU for reading my story here on Go Fund Me page, if you've read this far. Asking for help is not easy for me to do, so posting this request for financial support is quite a lesson in eating humble pie. It's a deeply humbling experience to lay my life open here on this page like this, but there it is. This is my life right now. And whatever help is given here is even more deeply honored and appreciated than I can even begin to express. For me, it is a gift of life itself and not just a monetary donation. But we need money to make the world go 'round, and right now, money is what I need most to make mine go 'round.
The TRUE value of your heartfelt prayers, gifts and donations will live on in my heart for as long as it keeps beating because you're helping me to keep it going!
Thank you for walking through this healing journey with me, as so many of you have already on FB, and for your ongoing support, love, compassion and healing intentions, as well as for whatever monetary gifts you may choose to offer at this time. I am deeply grateful to you each and all for your loving presence in my life.
Thank you for being there, and here, for me through these challenging times,
with deepest gratitude and appreciation,
Terri
