✨ Campaign Update – 44% Reached! Thank You! ✨
I want to give a huge thank-you to everyone who has donated and shared my fundraiser so far. Thanks to your kindness, we’ve reached 44% of the $5,000 goal for my prosthetic leg.
Every contribution brings me one step closer to regaining mobility, independence, and getting back to the life I’ve been fighting for. I’m deeply grateful for all the support—whether it’s a donation, a share, or encouraging words.
I’m reaching out for support after a life-changing accident in Thunder Bay, Ontario. On September 9th 2025 I lost my left leg below the knee and my right (dominant) arm below the shoulder after being run over by a train. This traumatic event has turned my world upside down, and I am now facing a long and difficult recovery.
My first prosthetic leg costs $11,121.11, and I am expected to cover $5,836.11 out pocket.
My ODSP and War Amps applications are currently delayed, and I have no income to cover the remaining cost of my prosthetic leg.
In the first year after my leg amputation, my residual limb will change size and shape many times as the swelling decreases and the tissues heal. Because of this, I will need three to four prosthetic legs (or prosthetic sockets/adjustments leading to new limbs) during the first 12 months. This is the normal medical process for new amputees and is required for safety, mobility, and preventing skin breakdown or injury.
On top of needing up to four prosthetic legs in the first year, I also need a prosthetic arm. This is crucial for daily tasks, mobility, balance, and independence. The cost of both arm and leg prosthetics is overwhelming, and with my ODSP and War Amps applications delayed, I currently have no income to cover any of it.
Any amount — big or small — will truly make a difference.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign also helps more than you know.
Much appreciated! Thanks for listening to my story.
