Save Abused Panda

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kristen and I am trying to raise funds for a foster dog I rescued from a cold, concrete shelter. Panda needs a forever home but we can't seem to introduce her successfully to new folks as Panda is terrified to meet new people or dogs. When I first saw Panda, she was curled up on a concrete floor in December when the temperatures were below 20 degrees. She was shaking in terror and was afraid to be touched, but her eyes were hopeful. Our best guess is that Panda was left in a backyard with no human interaction and was most likely abused. It took quite a while to load her into the car that night because she crouched down and wanted to hide underneath the car. She just had no idea we were trying to help her. In the past two months, she has made great progress in that she now trusts a few humans and trusts the two resident dogs she lives with. She even seeks affection and has learned to use her nose to nudge your hand if you don't pet her! She has a silly side, too and will roll onto her back and hide her eyes with her paws when she asks for her belly to be rubbed. I got some sad news one night shed a few tears and before I knew it, Panda was right there trying to lick my tears away….Panda will also lay patiently at your feet while you type away on the computer....and she will bounce around in the snow like it's the best thing in the world! Her personality is coming out! But she has so much potential and deserves a family to love her. I have met four amazing families but Panda is still severely lacking in confidence when she is in a new environment. Without professional help, I don't know that I can find a forever home for her. One of the amazing families that wanted to adopt Panda told me about Stand Proud Training...I didn't think I could get her into their program but I thought, well, it's worth a try. So I emailed them telling them Panda's story and they said they would help! But based on the severity of Panda's fears and lack of confidence, she will need approximately six weeks of training to boost her confidence and give her a chance at having a family of her own. Her six week program is going to cost just over $4,000... but I know once she builds confidence and learns that the world is no longer going to hurt her, she will make a beautiful companion for someone. And that pet parent will have a lifetime of support from the trainers....we will have truly given Panda a second chance at life. Please help us get Panda the help she needs in order for her to find her forever person. Thank you for your time.
