Terrible, life changing accident for Tanya
Donation protected
Tanya Kaloustian, a physical therapy assistant was on her way to work last June 19, 2023, when she was suddenly struck by a car. She was walking on the sidewalk by Metropolitan Avenue when a car went offroad and rammed her against a fence. Tanya was pinned underneath the car and was rushed to Jamaica Hospital. As a result of the incident, Tanya sustained severe and lifetime injuries. Her condition was so bad that they had to amputate her left leg (above knee) and perform several surgeries for the shattered pelvis on both sides and right tibia & fibula. They also had to perform resection on her intestine as she also had internal damage and bleeding. Tanya barely made it, but luckily, she is still with us. At present, she underwent 8 surgeries already with more coming up. She is fighting and is determined to get better day by day.
As a co-worker, Tanya is a very sweet, hardworking, and reliable person. She make sure that you feel comfortable and appreciated in the clinic. She never misses work whatever the weather is. She is very dedicated to her job and always got your back when you needed help. She is one of the best.
As a therapist, Tanya is very passionate with her work, which is improving people's function and their life. She worked through COVID-19 just to provide the care that the patients needed. In return, her patients cared back wherein even though they're done with therapy, they still visit the clinic to see how Tanya is doing. We can say that Tanya is loved by everyone that she met.
Tanya touched many hearts and helped a lot of people to get back on track. I think it's our time to give back and help her. Let's support her towards her recovery and make sure that she achieves her goal which is to stand up, walk, and bring her grandson Dani to school.
In addition to being a great co-worker and physical therapist, Tanya is a mom and grandmother. As a mother she is caring, loving and dedicated. She raised her children to be honest, hard working people. She helps her daughter, ValiaKaloustian, single mother to raise her son, Dani and since his birth Tanya has been always by their side. As a grandmother, well Dani is her precious gem. He always says he cannot wait for his grandmother to return and start cooking for him because noone else's food is as good. Tanya is the rock of the family. Since the accident Tanya's son, Noubar, has arrived from Bulgaria to help out. The family takes turns and spends everyday with Tanya in the hospital.
Tanya was also a dedicated wife to her late husband for 42 years before he passed from cancer in 2020.
Thank you everyone. All donations will be appreciated.
