Terri Lynn Memorial Fund
On behalf of Terri Lynn ‘Moe’ McIntyre, my sisters and I are humbly asking for fiscal donations in order to help with the cost of cremation and burial expenses for our mom.
On May 3, 2020, our mom passed away very unexpectedly in her sleep. Mom had been in and out of the hospital the last few months of her life due to difficulty breathing, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, edema, etc but the doctors insisted that she would be okay and sent her home (even though they were unable to find out what was really going on with her). It was infuriating but they insisted they needed the beds for more “serious patients” (COVID was well underway by this point). Less than three weeks after mom was released from the hospital, she was gone.
An autopsy was later performed and the medical examiner’s office ruled the cause of death as “cardio hypertension with chronic COPD.” If the doctor’s had given my mom the medical attention she desperately needed, they would have noticed the symptoms she had were likely due to congestive heart failure. The doctors could have possibly extended her life by treating her symptoms or at the very least, given my family and I the chance to say goodbye to the most important woman in our lives.
As much as our mom tried to prepare for the worst, she unfortunately did not have the finances necessary to cover the cost of her cremation and burial. We applied for burial assistance through the county but recently found out that she was denied. No explanation was given and now my siblings and I are scrambling to have mom’s ashes and to be able to lay her to rest. The burial plot where mom is to be laid was paid for years ago but my siblings and I are now financially responsible for the actual burial itself and the vault that is required to put her ashes inside of.
Normally, my family and I would be able to afford something like this but due to COVID-19, there has been drastic losses in wages amongst my family members and we are unable to afford these expenses on our own. As embarrassing as it is to admit, we cannot afford to give our beautiful mother the proper burial that she deserves and that is breaking our hearts all over again. We love our mom very much and we want nothing more than to give her what she has always wanted when she passed away; to be buried next to her parents in New Richland, MN.
We kindly ask that if anyone is willing to help us achieve this last wish for our mom, we would be eternally grateful for every single penny that you are willing to give. We know times are very tough right now and we are deeply apologetic that it has come to this. We just don’t know what else to do.
