Final Update* On April 4th Terri (my Mom) passed away, but the donations and support made her passing easier. It was very important to not leave behind any burdens or debts and will all of the support we were able to fulfill all of her final wishes. There will be a memorial at Calvary Chapel in Gloucester County on April 22nd at 1 PM, all are welcome.
Update2*truly appreciative of the generosity we've received, this donation is going to help immensely towards supporting Terri through her fight. She has had her injection ports placed and is scheduled to start chemotherapy in the upcoming week(s)
Update* so amazing thank you all for donating, we've surpassed our initial goal of $4000. Goal has been updated, this is my first time doing anything like this and it's so heartwarming.
Hello, I'm Dan and I'm hoping to raise funds for my Mom, Terri Giffins, following a devastating cancer diagnosis.
For the last three years she has been battling pancreatitis, a condition that causes her to go into frequent immobilizing attacks where she needs to be hospitalized until the attack subsides. Finally, there was hope in the form of a full removal of her pancreas leaving her dependent on a feeding tube but finally get her life back. Needless to say these procedures are rarely covered by insurance and completely wiped out her savings but hope was there to build back up.
This last month she returned to the hospital with unexplained pain to find out that after all this she now has rapidly spreading stage four cancer in her colon, liver and lungs.
We are reaching out to our friends and families to ask for any donation possible and to forward the fundraiser to your circle as well.
My mom is a fiercely independent and proud person but at this stage we are looking for any help we can obtain. She is currently in South Carolina with her husband Kevin who is her primary caretaker at the moment.
Thank you for reading this and spreading the request for help. With this donation we hope to have a daily nurse come to take care of her so that Kevin can return to work as he's on medical leave(FMLA) for a limited time.
