Hi, My name is Kylee Fauss. On Mother's Day, 2021 I was spending time with my mother, walking the picturesque Cuyamaca Lake in the San Diego mountains when she fell and fractured her ankle. What should have been a rudimentary operation, has become a medical nightmare.

The severity of the fracture required doctors to attach a metal plate to help fuse the tibia bone back together (the larger of the two lower leg bones).

Complications and infections in the healing of this injury have left her still incapacitated with a huge open wound for 4 months and counting. As I write this, she has been re-admitted to the hospital for a second surgery and has been told to expect more.

I have images of the open wound she has been dealing with all this time, which are too shocking to include here.

The medical bills and loss of mobility have been literally crippling. Unfortunately, her insurance is not nearly covering the accumulating costs.

Being based in LA, with my mother in Arizona, has left me feeling helpless in this situation and so I am reaching out with the gofundme page to help alleviate some of the stress.
