Terrell Strong

Hi my name is Amanda. As many of you know, my son Terrell, age 22, was diagnosed with Clear Cell Sarcoma in October 2022. Terrell is a 2019 graduate of VVS Central School, where he excelled in Soccer and Track. He attended Tompkins – Cortland Community College with the intensions in getting his degree in Physical Education, but due to Covid was unable to attain. He is the Assistant Coach for the VVS Varsity Soccer Team, but due to the cancer he has been unable to perform his duties for the team.

On December 14, 2022, we held a Benefit to raise funds to help with his cancer treatments, medications and travel expenses. The response was overwhelming. So many people took time to come and show their love and support. I wish to thank everyone again for your generosity.

Terrell’s diagnosis started with a tumor in his left shoulder. Aggressive rounds of Chemotherapy did nothing and the cancer spread to his left lung. In April, he was diagnosed with bone cancer in both hips, right thigh and lower back. He then went through several Radiation Treatments, which again did nothing. It seemed like the cancer was thriving and growing stronger with any medical treatments.

At this time, the doctors informed us that there was nothing more they could do and suggested Hospice to help keep him comfortable for the time he has left. Not willing to give up...Who would want to give up on their child? Not willing to give up, we resorted to treatments which are all very costly and depleting our bank accounts.

Within the last 2 weeks, Terrell, an independent young man who was living on his own at the time suffered a fall. He decided it was best if he came back home to live with his family. And most recently, he had a major seizure that sent him to the ER in so much pain that it took hours for the staff to get it under control.

Terrell has been on Hospice for pain management as the pain can get excruciating at times. With their help we are trying to find the right combination of medication to fight the pain. He tries not to complain, but I know when it gets to be too much for him when I see him cry. He tries to be so strong for me, even though I know that the pain can be unbearable at times.

I am asking for donations for treatment to help keep my baby boy be as comfortable as possible for the remainder of his life, however long that will be, to help deplete the medical and travel expenses that are piling up.

Thank you in advance for your love and support.
