Hi, I’m Chris, an Animal Care Assistant working in Dundee.

For years I have worked in the animal care sector across the UK, including rescue and veterinary environments. My passion for helping animals started much earlier, back home in Sicily, where I helped rescue and rehome stray animals in my local community.

When the rescue centre I worked at in Dundee suddenly closed, it left a huge gap. Animals that once had somewhere safe to go were left with nowhere. Owners who relied on guidance and support suddenly had no place to turn.

That loss stayed with me. I couldn’t walk away from it.

Animals and owners in our community still need help, and there simply aren’t enough places offering practical, compassionate support.

That’s why I founded Terra Nova Rescue CIC.

Terra Nova means “new ground”, and that’s exactly what we’re building:

A rescue focused on education, prevention, and ethical rehoming.

Our goal is simple:

help animals before crisis happens, support owners when they need guidance, and give animals in need a safe path toward a better future.

No ego. No politics. Just honest animal welfare.

Where the funds will go:

So far, I have personally funded everything needed to get Terra Nova started, merchandise, equipment, insurance, workshops, printing, and registration costs.

We have now reached the stage where we need community support to continue building and expanding the project.
