Two Siblings Hunt for a Mysterious Healing Tree

UTSA Film/Media Presents: Por el Camino (Along the Way)

Alejandro is done with hospitals. After countless failed treatments and surgeries, he’s starting to come to terms with the fact that he might not make it to his 18th birthday. While Alejandro might be ready to accept defeat, his sister, Isabella, refuses to accept her brother’s condition. The siblings journey through the streets of San Antonio to find a rumored healing tree, all while the threat of deportation looms in the air. Later, they come across an older couple who might hold the answer to the siblings' prayers.

Our story is one of three chapters in Where Branches Reach, an original anthology film about love, grief, and trees.

WHY FINANCE OUR FILM?

Por el Camino represents everything we have been working towards while studying filmmaking at UTSA. Your generous donation would mean everything to us, as it will be the final short film several of us will create before graduating this spring. We want Por el Camino to be our best yet, but to make that a reality we need funds for food, costumes/props, location permits, and film festival submission fees.

As San Antonio locals, we believe our city is on the verge of becoming the next big film production hub. Your donation to fund an independent short film by San Antonians about San Antonians will help bring that dream closer to reality. Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated!
