The best ‘last Christmas’ for mum of 4, Nikki
Donation protected
Sometimes in life, we come across amazing, strong, genuinely good people. And sometimes we hear something that we just can’t ignore. We can’t turn away. We’d do anything to help them. This is one of those times.
This is for Nikki Howorth - a lovely woman of a similar age to me, in her mid-30’s - a mother to 4 beautiful children (from toddler to teenagers). Nikki has been battling a brain tumour and has very recently been given the heartbreaking news that her illness is terminal.
This hit me hard. Life can be so cruel. I literally felt my heart drop, and all I can think is… What can I do to help?
It’s not much - but I’m hoping that through the power of kindness, we can help generate some funding to help Nikki and her family in what little time she has left… To help make some final precious memories as a family, to help alleviate a little financial pressure for either a mobility car with hoist, the children’s upcoming birthdays, or to help them have the best 'last Christmas' together.
Nikki’s Story:
Nikki has a rare type of cancer called Ewing Sarcoma - in her head and spine, and is now paralysed from her chest down.
Nikki was first diagnosed at the age of 26, whilst she had three children - Jack, Georgia and Abbie. After a years long treatment, Nikki had the all clear for 8 years, in which time she had a baby girl, Everleigh. Before her baby’s 1st birthday, Nikki found out the cancer had returned - and underwent another 18 months treatment, which brings us to now.
Nikki has been told the tragic news that there is nothing more they can do for her, and she is now faced with a grim reality that she only has a matter of months left - in which time to try make precious memories with her little family.
For context, although Nikki is extremely poorly, she has looked into how much it would cost for a mobility car with a hoist, to enable her to go outside with her family - this would be £3k! (on top of Christmas and her children’s birthday’s).
If like me, you want to help in any way you can, please make a small donation to help this family make the most of their final times together.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
