Hi my name is Michelle. I’m fundraising for my friend Scott Grant who was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal lung cancer.
Scott and I quickly became friends when he moved across the street. I provided childcare for his two amazing children. And now, he dates my mother.
Here is Scott's story,
Born and raised in Beaverbank, Scott has called this community his home for 54 years. He raised his 2 children, Maggie and Daniel here and has made many life time connections and friends over the years.
In 6 short weeks, Scott’s world has been turned upside down.
October 10, Scott went to Cobequid hospital for stomach pains. A CT scan revealed he had a large mass in his lung. The doctor told him he needed to follow up, he was sure it was cancer.
October 31, Scott was hospitalized for 3 days. Biopsies were performed.
November 6, Scott's 54th birthday. It was confirmed. Cancer.
November 10, Scott was told by his Specialist, Stage 4 terminal lung cancer. 3-6 months to live without treatment. And if he could do treatments 6-12 months.
As you all can imagine the state of shock we are in. Going in for stomach pains to find out you have Stage 4 Terminal Lung Cancer, with approximately 3-6 months to live.
The funds raised will be used to help with the multiple cancer appointments, which are daily/weekly. Gas, parking, lunches. I am hoping enough can be raised to ease his mind that his family will not be burdened with his afterlife expenses. Cremation, burial plot and celebration of life. And if at all possible, to send him to Ottawa to see his family. His daughter, son and sister before he is too sick to travel.
I thank you in advance for your kindness. If you cannot donate please share. I will update on Scott's condition as I find out more.
Please, hold your loved ones close. Life is too short and precious to let them go without loving each other.
