Terminal Lung Cancer - Help family with expenses
Donation protected
In February of 2022, Jim started developing a heavy cough and went to the doctor, where he was told that he had stage 3 lung cancer and was given a prognosis of 6 months to a year. Then this May, he was told that his cancer is spreading too quickly and there is nothing more that the doctor can do for him, and so he is now in hospice. Unfortunately, their expenses are piling up and his wife's income is the only source coming in, which is limited due to her having to take off of work to care for her husband. Whatever financial help, and prayers, they can get would be greatly appreciated.
My wife and I (Jeff and Mylen), seeing their difficult situation, approached them to see if they would be ok if we setup a gofundme on their behalf to try and raise help for them.
All funds are being directed straight to them.
Note from Maria (See photos also):
I'm humbly asking support or help. I felt embarrassed to do this but i love my husband so much who is now suffering from a lung cancer and just got admitted to a hospice care. I am asking a help financially to support us to pay our bills for medical and for our household . My husband needed or require a full time care with that means I am not be able to work to sustain or support our financial needs.
It started 6 months ago in med November my husband had stopped going to the woods to do his favorite hobby to hunt deer because he started coughing. He was told he has URI (upper respiratory inspection) and then strep throat after the cough didn't go away. He then went to the family Dr And was ordered by the Dr to have the lab's done. When Labs came back, it showed a mass on his right upper lung and on his lymph node and around his esophagus. His then scheduled for biopsy but at the day for biopsy he went straight to the ER because he has an AFIB.
In Feb 16 before my birthday, he was diagnosed for a stage 3b lung cancer. The NSCLC non small cell lung cancer an active type of cancer. Since its already spread he didn't get radiation and he was told he only have 3 months or less then 1 yr of life expantancy. So he went straight to chemo but his chemo didn't helped. His breathing got bad that it had put us going to the ER pretty much almost every weekend. While at the ER his scan showing that there's fluids building up on his lungs, And it needed to be drained. So for the last 3 weeks while waiting for the next immuno therapy. He had been having a feural effusion or fluids and it had been drained every week. The last one was Monday when we went to the Dr's office for his breathing evaluation. After those troubled breathing and numbers dropping under 90's when his at home, he is still not qualified to have oxygen on because at the office, his 02 is above 90.
We then told he should be in the hospice because his chemo is not going to cure him anymore his cancer is spread and active and causing feural effusion the reason why this Tuesday he is going to have a thorax catheter so that his lung can be drain at home by us or by the hospice nurse when they visit him at home. Thank you guys in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated.
