Teri Merryman Memorial

Teri Merryman entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 12, 2021.  At the time of her passing, Teri was 62 years of age and was born to Hank and Inga Brown in Petaluma, CA.  Terri was the oldest of four siblings.  Raised in a Christian home, she accepted Christ as Lord of her life at the age of six at a Vacation Bible School program. She enjoyed being a “teacher” to her siblings, a princess, and she also enjoyed various family vacations and camp outs.

 

Her teenage years were filled with friends. Her motto: the more the merrier. She lived her faith even then and led her dearest friend, Debbie, to the Lord.

 

After High School, she attended Western Baptist Bible College and earned her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. There she met her future husband, Doug Merryman. They married at First Baptist Church in Petaluma, CA on October 27, 1979.

 

Together they had 5 children – Amanda, Brittany, Jeremy, Cassidee and Jeffrey. Life was full. And busy. And fun. She homeschooled 3 children while caring for 2 toddlers, then, when all her children were in school, she returned to her love of teaching and enjoyed being in the classroom.

Having 4 teenagers in the house at the same time solidified her deep faith in Jesus. She continued to shine Jesus through the years of watching her children grow and marry and have their own children.

She never stopped teaching, but the content changed from general education to the Word of God.

Teri was a student of the Word and encouraged that love of Scripture in so many. Her battle with illness has ended and her Savior that she loved so much has welcomed her into His glory.

 

She is survived by her mother, (Inga Brown), her sister (Tami Guenzi), her brothers (Todd Brown, Troy Brown), her husband of 41 years (Doug Merryman), her children - Amanda Campbell (Bill), Brittany Mader (Ian), Jeremy Merryman (Bonnie), Cassidee Cooney (Mark), Jeffrey Merryman (Jessica), and her 10 grandchildren – Karis, Kelsie, Marek, Kira, Caleb, Rilyn, Tommy, Billy, Jensen, and Lincoln.

 

She is preceded in death by her father Hank Brown.

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at South Reno Baptist Church – 6780 S. McCarran Blvd. Reno, NV. 89509 – at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
