In loving memory of Teressa Hayfield

Hi, my name is Cara I’m 27 years old and a mother of 4 small children.
I’m sadly trying to raise funds for my mother’s funeral expenses following her unexpected and sudden death.

Admittedly, this is a very emotional and challenging time for me. I’ve struggled to understand and accept this situation. Losing your mum is a deeply painful experience. It comes with a hurricane of emotions, processing and rejection.

Last year a couple weeks after my wedding we found out my mum had stage four lymphoma that had spread into her spine after 10 months of visiting the GP and being told that she was fine. They finally found what was wrong after letting her down. Due to the aggressiveness of the cancer my mum was put on chemotherapy straight away. She was put on intense chemotherapy. She has strict rules which she stuck by religiously. She done everything she was told. She was told by the doctors that she wouldn’t die, if they couldn’t get rid of the cancer that they would be able to manage her condition, she was then clinically in remission. However my mother was showing symptoms. Many symptoms of a blood clot a DVT infact (leg swelling , chest pains and shortness of breath. She was tested for a few things however not a blood clot. I still don’t know why. And why she wasn’t sent home with anticoagulant medication? My mum was on her last set of chemo after a long intense treatment and the night she came home she spoke to me on the phone. She spoke to her sister and she spoke to my brother and she told us that she wasn’t happy with the treatment she received that day and how she been treated but she was too tired to explain what happened and will tell us on the following Monday, I still don’t understand why they discharged her that Friday when she was having all those symptoms if they hadn’t, she would still be here. However on that following Monday when I grew concerned after not hearing from her I put my children to bed and I went to her house and after awhile of knocking not being able to get an answer and the police and ambulance not arriving soon enough we (me, my dad and cousin and a family friend) decided to break in through the window and that’s when I found my mother passed away, she passed away from a blood clot that travelled to her lung and that caused a pulmonary embolism. That should’ve never happened and should’ve been caught!! My mum was let down BIG time by multiple people in the NHS.

I have since lost my job, struggling with my own health and sadly I am unable to cover these costs for my Mum‘s funeral.

If you could spare anything even a pound, I will be incredibly grateful and if I can raise enough funds for her Funeral anything left over, will go towards the gravestone she deserves. I honestly appreciate any support.

Thank you for reading and for any donation you may give.

if you’re not in the position to donate, I fully understand if you could please just share this page that will be just as much appreciated, I no longer have social media so unable to share on there myself. If 2000 people could donate £1 then that’s the chunk of the costs paid and a huge financial burden lifted that I’m left with. Thank you!
