Teresita Ponce Funeral services

Teresita, in her mid-50s, fought a long battle against cancer. Although her fight wasn't easy, she always held a big smile and carried radiant positive energy. Teresita was a mother, a sister, a recent grandmother and a beautiful soul with an altruistic personality. She always prioritized others and looked out for her family and friends. Everyone who came in contact with her would love her contagious personality. Her favorite thing to do was to cook very delicious food and bring her family together. Besides cooking, she loved holidays and making people feel special on birthdays. Teresita wrote letters to all her loved ones, especially regarding birthdays. She would plan weeks ahead of a birthday and have gifts delivered to those who weren't close enough to have gifts personally delivered. When it came to her birthday, she would celebrate it all month long.

She was always a fighter which was especially apparent by her being the first in her family to immigrate to the United States at age 17; she worked two jobs tirelessly and went to school to become a nurse. As a single mother of three, she would strive to provide and do whatever she could for her kids and always made it important for them to go to school.

Teresita will be remembered as humble, happy and always open to adventures. She loved going to bodega bay and traveling wherever her illness would allow her.
Teresita was also a sports fan; she loved basketball, baseball and watching hockey. She had season passes for the giant's games and frequently went to warriors games and sharks games before she became ill. Teresita would always be cheerful even when things were tough. She was a very strong and hopeful woman, and despite all the hardships she went through, she stayed positive, and it was especially evident as she said, "where there's life, there is hope."

All donations will be used for Teresita Ponce's funeral services and her wish to be buried in Guatemala.
