If you know my mom, you know she has always been diligent about taking care of her health. She never misses her yearly exams and has always believed in staying proactive — and that commitment may have saved her life.
At a routine mammogram earlier this year, doctors detected abnormalities that led to additional imaging and biopsies. After multiple appointments and thorough testing, she was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma with micropapillary features, a form of breast cancer.
While doctors feel positive about the outcome with treatment, the road ahead is still uncertain. The treatment plan will include a mastectomy followed by further therapies, and we’re awaiting additional results to determine the exact course.
The rapid pace of back-to-back appointments, unexpected additional visits, and the emotional toll of processing this diagnosis have made it impossible for her to continue working. This has brought not only the stress of fighting cancer, but also the anxiety of keeping up with normal bills during this difficult time.
If you know my mom, Teresa — “Mama T” to so many who love her — you know she is the person who always shows up for everyone else. She’s the one who quietly goes out of her way to help, who would give the shirt off her back without a second thought, and who has spent her life pouring love and care into her family and friends. She has a heart of gold, and now she’s facing a moment when she needs that same kindness poured back into her.
More than anything, we ask for prayers, good thoughts, and encouragement as she navigates this journey. If you feel called to donate to help ease the financial strain so she can focus on healing, she would be forever grateful.
We’ll be updating this page regularly with her progress and treatment updates. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving her the way she has always loved others — with generosity, kindness, and hope.
